From the editor…

Lucie in Côte-d’Or, Burgundy, France

Lucie is founder of Mondisti.com, and an avid Mondista, a term we use to refer to travelers seeking to expand their horizons and embracing what is ‘odd’ about another culture, without thinking it odious.

This site is Lucie’s response to frequent requests from friends and fellow travelers urging Lucie to create a more elaborately curated travel journal than what was possible with her frequent Facebook posts.

It serves as a repository for photos, travel notes and tips collected by her and like-minded Mondisti.

Lucie’s love of world travel was fostered at an early age; by the time she was 5 years old she’d already lived in 2 countries (Italy and England), and enjoyed a transatlantic sea voyage to the Americas by age 10.

As a finance professional, and with numbers in her genes, she can’t travel with less than 3 pairs of shoes, yet with the gentle encouragement of her travel partner and this editor, she long ago honed the art of traveling with carry-on luggage only, including multiple RTW trips.

Mondisti.com is yet another addition to the crowded travel blog-o-sphere, with thousands of other excellent  and helpful travel sites. Hopefully you will find here some insights, tips and stories that will seriously move you to enjoy a part of our planet you never before dreamed of visiting.

What you won’t find here are travel tips masquerading as click-bait trying to sell you travel accessories or insurance. If you have unusual travel stories or advice of your own that you’d like to share with other Mondisti, we’d love to hear from you and add yours to our curated series.

As Lucie’s travel and life partner, I was enlisted to help write, shoot (photos) and help manage the site. If you see something amiss or adrift, please let me know.
